A.   Chok Yisrael, First section – the Halachot of Passover that occurs on a Sabbath by Rabbi Yisrael Woltz Av beit Din of Budapest. Budapest, 1927. First edition.

The book was reprinted several times in later years. In the Jerusalem edition 1950, it was published by Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, who corrected and proofread it.

The edition before us was approbated by the most prominent rabbis, among them Rabbi Yesha'aya Zilberstein Av Beit Din of Vietzen.

Condition: Very Good. Stains and dampness marks on the last leaf.

B.   Even Bochan – commentary on Siman 89 of the Shulchan Aruch Choshen Mishpat. The commentary is part of a book called "Moznayim La'Mishpat". By Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Kalischer of Torun. Krotoszyn, 1843. First edition.

Rabbi  Zvi Hirsch Kalischer (1795-1875), disciple of Rabbi Ya'akov of Lissa and Rabbi Akiva Eiger. He was a rabbi and Dayan at Torun. He was one of the first rabbis to come up with the idea of the settlement of the Land of Israel. The settlement of "Tirat Zvi" in the Beit She'an valley is named after him. He authored the book "Emunah Yeshara" – views on the Torah, philosophy and kabbala, and the book "Drishat Zion" – on the settlement of the Land of Israel.
