Explanations and novaelle on the tractates Zevachim, Menachot and Temura, and on the Tosefta of tractate Zevachim. By Rabbi Eliyahu Z"K Shidlov.
A very special book. On the title page is told about the author "who toiled all of his life in the Order of Kodshim, and hardly slept until he was fluent in the entire Order of Kodshim with Torat Kohanim and Korban Aharon and all of the commentators of the wording of the versions of its words, and the sages say who will show us good, and there is no good other than Torah for those who establish the true versions" which appear in the book alongside the many novaelle. "Because the righteous man did not leave any small or great thing which he did not rise up to his fortress…because this man Eliyahu was very great in the order of the sacrifices".
Before us is an especially special and rare copy, from a first and unknown edition, which it seems was printed before the other editions which were printed in 1776. In the copy before us approbations were not printed (even though they are mentioned in the title page!), and there are significant changes at the end of the book in comparison to copies from the later editions.
A conspicuous difference in this rare edition is the title page, in which the text is designed in a unique way.
In the book are stamps from Wolf Eisenstein of Jerusalem. An ancient signature on the title page.
In the middle of the book is an impressive illustration (wood cut) which shows the three angels visiting the Patriarch Avraham and informing him that Sarah will give birth to a son. Avraham is serving food to the angels, Sarah is in the tent in the background. The illustration appears before the commentary to tractate Menachot - Avraham is giving a Mincha to guests.
45 pages.
Condition: Good. Slight wear. On the last page is a hole with missing text.
