Important placard issued by Agudat Yisrael opposing the administration of the Jewish yishuv in Eretz Yisrael in light of the fact that the "Yaldei Tehran" were placed in non-religious institutions. Start of the 1940s

Placard issued by the Histadrut Agudat Yisrael HaOlamit criticising the administration of the Yishuv HaYehudi in Eretz Yisrael for forcing the "Yaldei Tehran" to give up their religion against their will. In this placard, the Agudah discloses the crimes of the Zionist administration, with a detailed report about how they forced the children to transgress their religious beliefs.

"A thousand orphans from Tehran, refugees from the inferno, were mostly placed in irreligious educational facilities, an education where there is no Torah and Judaism in opposition to the protests of Charedi Jewry and against the will of their holy parents hy"d....the agency sent its representatives to Tehran, to poison the children regarding forfeiting their religion. When they reached the land they were set up in irreligious transition camps with many counselors who abandoned Torah. These camps, which were meant to relax and rehabilitate the children, turned into propaganda nests opposing religon. We have proof and facts that the children were forced to transgress their religious beliefs....Charedi Judaism is full of anger and bitterness because the orphans from Tehran were given over to spiritual desecration and view this as a dangerous precedent for the thirty thousand children that will come to the land, we must arise against this coercion of Jewish children, agains the monopoly that the Agency took for the children of the Nazi inferno...."

"Yaldei Tehran" is the term used for a group of children, Holocaust survivors who were transferred from Poland to Teheran, Iran and then brought to Palestine in 1943. In 1942, when Anders' Army reached Iran, which was under British rule, the Jewish Agency established a camp for the children called "Beit HaYeled HaYehudi" and gathered 719 children. In 1943, the Jewish Agency arranged for their immigration to Palestine. Most of these children had one parent, though some were orphaned of both father and mother, and some had parents in the Soviet Union who gave their children to churches or orphanages. In Palestine, a sharp controversy broke out between the factions of secular Jewry and the various factions of religious-Charedi Jewry about how to educate these children and where to send them to study. The administration of the yishuv decided to divide these children between different institutions depending on their age and country of origin, a decision that earned them sharp criticism and accusations that they purposely removing them from their religion. This episode is the background for this placard.
