A Letter from the Rebbe Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Lifshitz Halberstam of Stropkov

A letter with the signature of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Lifshitz Halberstam - the Rebbe of Stropkov. Dated: 27 Shevat 5727 [1967].

A halachic responsum in stencil print regarding whether an enamel vessel such as one made of iron can undergo Libbun. In the letter the Rebbe relates about himself that: "Thank God I bought myself a special oven for milk and a special one for meat as such questions arise almost every day". And ends the responsum: "And it is known that only one who was trained in adjudication can issue halachic rulings, as otherwise mistakes can be made and things which are not comparable can be compared to each other. And may Almighty God save us from errors in adjudication".

Two handwritten glosses in the Rebbe's handwriting and his handwritten signature in the letter's margins.

Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Lifshitz Halberstam, the Rebbe of Stropkov [1908-1995], grandson and student of the Rebbe Rabbi Shalom Halberstam of Stropkov. Served as Rabbi of Jablonka and as dayan in Berehove.
