Handwritten leaves from talks given by the Admor of Gur the "Beit Yisrael." Torah ideas he said on Shabbat Parashat Bo, the 6th of Shevat 5735 at kiddush.

Torah words heard from the Admor written by his student. Including a solution brought by the Admor in the name of his father, the 'Sfat Emet' about the famous problem of the issue of the locusts, where it says that afterwords there was none like it, yet we found it in the days of Yoel [as brought in Rashi], novellae on the question of knowledge and free will, an incident with the Chiddushei HaRi"m and Bunim Meshamesh 'Bunim HaShischar,' topics from the book Tzror HaMor by Rabbi Avraham Sabba of the gaons of Spain, novellae on the issue of the blood put on the lintel between the two doorposts, by way of the communication with Moshe and Aharon's connection to the Divine Presence, that we say 'Elokeinu' and afterwards 'V'Elokei Avoteinu' - that a person must first connect himself upwards and only then can he request in the merit of the forefathers, it is written that it is forbidden to look at the image of an evil person, if this is the case, how is it possible for Moshe Rabbeinu to have stood the whole time before Pharoah, and other issues.

Rabbi Yisrael Alter [1895 - 1977] was the fifth Admor of Gur, known by the name of his book, the Beit Yisrael. He was appointed Admor in 1948, after his father's passing. He gathered around him the chassidim of Gur who were in the Land of Israel before the world war, and the Holocaust survivors. He also served as the head af the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah.
