A Letter from Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis to Rabbi Chaim Naeh

A letter on an official postcard in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis. Jerusalem, 1938. 

A letter sent to Rabbi Chaim Naeh, dated: 20 Kislev 1938. Regarding a sum of money given as a deposit. On the rear side of the postcard is Rabbi Bengis's personal stamp. 

Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis [1864-1953]: born in Lithuania and studied in the Volozhin yeshiva, where he was known as a tremendous genius. His Rabbi, the Netziv, referred to him as a living Talmud. He was Rabbi of Boćki, Smolensk and Kalvarija. He was known for his tremendous genius, wrote the series of books 'Liflugat Reuven'. He immigrated to Israel in 1938 to serve as Av Beit Din of the Eida Chareidit and from 1949 was appointed as the Ga'avad until his death in 1953. 

The letter's recipient, Rabbi Avraham Chaim Naeh [1890-1954], one of the heads of Chabad chassidut and one of the foremost Rabbis in Israel. Known for his halachic opinion on measurements according to the Torah and more.
