In Sighet, Romania there were two communities who fought one another: the Orthodox community, and the “Status Quo” community. In 1888 in Lviv a book “OhevMishpat” was published by the Sefardi community of Sighet (the Status Quo group). In response the book before us was published, with letters from rabbis and admorim supporting the Orthodox community. The page numbering in the volume before us is messed up, since the book was originally published as single pamphlets, and only later collected into one volume. Wider printing, Sighet Pelech.
