Set of 2 volumes ,facsimile copy of the Halachot HaRif. New York manuscript. Jerusalem, 1974. Copy 14/390.
Halachot of Rabbi Yitzhak Elfasi, from the New York manuscript located at the Beit Midrash LaRabanim in the US. Printed by Mekor, Jerusalem. This manuscript is different from the more common nusach taken from the Kushta printing of 1509. Published with an introduction by Professor Shmuel Yehuda Friedman. Copy 14 out of 390. The Rif became famous mainly because of his work Halachot Rav Elfas as the one before us, in which he abbreviates, copies, and concentrates only that which, in his mind, relate to halacha. The greatest Rishonim like Rambam, the Ra’avad, Ramban, the Ri ba’al HaTosafot all mentioned him with great appreciation, and most halakhic sages refer to him as the foremost authority on halacha. Handsome leather and cloth binding with rings in gold. Dark page cutting. 137; 137-284. 29cm. Generally excellent condition.
