A Palestinian Thobe Azraq Dress, Beersheba area, c. 1945. Dark cotton, embroidered with geometrical patterns in silk thread. The blue embroidery work on the bottom part was typically worn by an unmarried woman/widow. Once the woman was remarried, pink and red thread were added to the blue, as can be seen on the back of the dress. Length: 124 cm. Maximal width: 125 cm. Overall fair condition, some small holes and mending.
