A truly unique, near complete set in excellent condition; from a prestigious private collection; of 22 seforim authored by R. Yisrael Meir Kagan, the Chofetz Chaim. Printed over a span of 55 years, many of them are exceptionally rare. R. Yisrael Meir Ha’Cohen Kagan (1838-1933) was the leader of his generation and published many seforim based on what he felt needed emphasizing at the time, such as the laws of forbidden speech, family purity, tznius and daily Torah study. He also placed importance on studying the laws of Kodshim to prepare for the arrival of Moshiach and published Likutei Halachos on Kodshim. As is well known the Chofetz Chaim was personally involved in the printing and distributing of his seforim, often travelling considerable distances for that purpose.

• Lot includes complete set of Mishna Berurah with “Muga”. Authored by the Chofetz Chaim and published in six volumes over a period of more than 20 years, the Mishna Berurah is widely accepted as the primary authority on the laws of Orach Chaim among Ashkenazi Jews. As is well-known, the Chofetz Chaim with the assistance of his family, personally checked every sefer before it was sold to ensure he would not be selling defective goods. Once checked they were inscribed in Hebrew with the word “muga” (checked).Complete set with five out of six volumes inscribed with “Muga” in pencil. Excellent condition, quality paper. Original uniform bindings.
