הברית החדש עם נהר הסמבטיון במדינת צ’יינה. מהדורה יחידה. פייטרקוב תרע”א (1911).

The subject of the ten lost tribes and the legendary “Sambatyon” river has fascinated many scholars for hundreds of years. In 1901 Uziel Haga of Boston petioned President McKinley for a permit to tour China to research the routes and customs of Chinese Jewry. He accompanied the U.S. Armed Forces on an expedition to China. Haga presents his findings in this work which portrays a comprehensive description of Chinese Jewish life and customs, including a prayer recited by Chinese Jews during the seven days of mourning. The author maintains that the Jews of Kaifeng in Hunan Province are descendants of the exiled Ten Lost Tribes, most particularly, the Tribe of Asher. Tragically he was suspected of espionage and was imprisoned by the Boxers where he died after suffering torture.
