A silver medallion of the Touro Synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island, USA, considered the oldest synagogue in North America, with a quote from George Washington during his visit to the synagogue in 1790.
The Touro Synagogue: Congregation Jeshuat Israel is a synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island that is considered to be the oldest synagogue in North America and the only one from the colonial period that still exists. The synagogue is located at 85 Toro Street and still serves as an active Orthodox synagogue.
