A controversial figure who opposed to legal reforms and defended serfdom and corporal punishments. A.L.S., C.V. Panin, two pages, 8vo, Bath, 1st of November, n.y., to Monsieur d«Adelung, in French. Panin asks for his correspondent«s help to send a large parcel which has been badly packed. With a Bath blind embossed seal at the head, and with blank address leaf, bearing a Kunzel blue crown seal collection. Very small area of paper loss to the address leaf corner, otherwise VG £100-120
