Eleh HaMitzvot, Rabbi Moshe Hagiz. Amsterdam, 1713. First Edition
613 mitzvot with commentaries and short notes by Rabbi Moshe Chagiz. Amsterdam, printed by Netanel Foah, 1713. First Edition.
Specifications: [18], 129 leaves, 12 cm
Background: Rabbi Moshe Chagiz of Jerusalem wrote the notes and additions while staying in Europe, and signed his name on the last page as: "Moshe Zeirah DiYerushalayim ... signs in a land not his own ... We go to the place where the L-rd says (Parashat Behaalotecha), 1713." This explanation is on the first leaves: "These are the fourteen roots in the Rambam's introduction to the enumeration of mitzvoth, and some of the opinions that disagree with him, presented as briefly as possible."
Unique Features: The original first edition is before us. There is an imitation edition that was printed in Poryck, 1870. Uncommon book.
Condition: Very fine. Simple binding.
