Letter of Power of Attorney in handwriting of the Ga'on Rabbi Mordechai Zvi Schwartz of Cleveland, Rabbi of the Satmar Rebbe in his youth - Land Sale in Petach Tikva.
The Lakatch brothers in South Africa wanted to sell the estate they inherited from their father and appointed Rabbi Israel Abba Citron, Av Beit Din of Petach Tikvah, as the emissary to carry out the sale. 1916.
The letter was written by Rabbi Mordechai Zvi Schwartz, Av Beit Din of Hollle, England, at the end, in the handwriting and signature of Rabbi Israel Abba Citron.
The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Tzvi Schwartz was born in Hungary and studied in his youth with the Gaon, author of Kedushat Yomtov from Siget, who took him to become his private tutor for his son Yoel. He grew up to be the Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum zt "l. Rabbi Mordechai Zvi had a wonderful talent, and from far away Hungary took him to serve as rabbi in one of the communities in London. Then he went to serve in Hollel. Served there in the rabbinate until a dispute arose between him and the official rabbinate of England against his opposition to the construction of a synagogue on a place that had once served as a Christian cemetery. As a result he was forced to leave for the United States, where he continued to serve in the rabbinate until his death in 1962. He left behind many works, among them the books Avodat Yamid, Derashim Tov to his people, Deroshi Hochma and Daat.
Rabbi Yisrael Abba Citron: (Hebraicized his name to Ketroni, 1881-1927) was the rabbi of Petah Tikva (1911-1927). Son-in-law of Rabbi Yosef Rozhin, the Rogachover.
