Safed 1872 circa: Letter signed by Prominent Rabbis of the Ashkenazic Community


A personal fundraising letter signed by Admorim, and Rabbis of the Shkenazic communty of Tzfas, around 1872. 


In this letter they urge to assist a helpless resident of Tzfas, so that he can continue to learn Torah. The recipient is not filled in.

The letter is signed by:

1) Rabbi [Noach] Pinchas Halevi Horowitz of Magrow-Brod [Nikolsburg], known as the "Rebbe of Magrov". He was the son of R. Yaakov Dovid, son of R. Tzvi Yehoshua Treivitch [son of Reb Shmelke of Nikolsberg] and father in law of Reb Dovid Zvi Shlome of Lelov.

3) Rabbi Moshe b.r. Shmuel Elimelech Keler from Rudnik. He married a granddaughter of the Chozeh of Lublin.

5) Rabbi Yitzchak of Buchach. Served as Dayan in Safed.
