Letter from Rabbi SHMELKE SELISHER - To the MAHRAM SHICK. 


A beautifull handwritten letter from Rabbi Shmuel Shmelke Klein Rav of Selish. Addressed to the Maharam Shick [who he refers to as his Mechutan]. The contents of the letter are all about "Pidyon Shevui'im", which expose an additional aspect of Reb Shmelka's personality, being physically involved in helping and saving others.


Rabbi Shmuel Shmelka Klein of Selish (1805-1875) was kown as Reb Shmelke Selesher- author of Tzeror HaChaim and one of the most prominent rabbis of 19th century Transylvani. He was renowned as a miracle worker and baal ruach hakodesh, having all his miracles linked to Torah learning. The holy Divrei chaim sent an ill person to be helped miraculously. The holy Yismach Moshe visited him for a Shabbos and put him on his Shtreimel and said that he learns Torah Lishma. The Yetav Lev sent his son the Kedushas Yom Tov to receive from him Heter Horoah and Semicha,
