Ephraim Bueno (1599-1665) was a distinguished physician in Amsterdam who stemmed from the Bueno de Mesquita family of Marrano origin. He was a close friend of Menasseh ben Israel and published several liturgical works in Spanish translation. Bueno`s portrait was painted by Rembrandt, entitled"The Jewish Doctor." See EJ Vol. IV col. 1460.
