c. 1912.

The inscription in the dedication plaque is inscribed with a Hebrew verse from Leviticus 25:12 with the following English description: “Silver Jubilee of the Don Abarbanel Lodge, Order Brith Abraham, 1887-1912, March Tenth, Nin[e]teen Hundred And Twelve, New York City.”
The Don Abarbanel lodge, part of the greater Order Brith Abraham, was a philanthropic society devoted to aiding major Jewish institutions as well as American agencies such as the Red Cross. With the goal of contributing to both American and Jewish ideals, OBA sought “Unity, Liberty, and Justice” in their endeavors (Samuel Koening, “The Social Aspect of the Jewish Mutual Benefit Societies,” Social Forces 18:12, Dec., 1939, pp. 268-274).
