Rabbi Natan Shapira of Krakow, one of the greatest Ashkenazic Kabbalists, was a rabbi in Poland, immigrated to Jerusalem and was sent as a fundraiser to Italy, where he met Rabbi Moshe Zechut, who encouraged the publication of the book "Maamar Yayin Hameshumar" He died in 1666.
