Itzik Manger (1901-1969) was a prominent Yiddish poet and playwright, a self-proclaimed folk bard, visionary, and 'master tailor' of the written word. A Jew from Bucovina, Manger lived in Romania, Poland, France, England and finally Israel.
Arthur Kolnik (1890-1972) was a Galician-Jewish illustrator and painter, he is assigned to the modern first Ecole de Paris.
His paintings and expressionist woodcuts depict the figures and images of Eastern European Jewry, the world of shtetl erased by the Holocaust.
