Britain(?): tallion of "British-Israelite" religious movement, c. late 19th C.; not maker-marked; size: 25.75 x 36.5mm; weight: 10.1g. Obverse: British coat of arms; Hebrew legend below, "Kadosh Israel Malkeinu" (Holy Israel Our Lord). Reverse: Star of David with Hebrew words "Atem Edai" (You are my Witnesses). The movement believes that Western & Northern Europeans, especially the British, are direct descendants of the Ten Lost Israelite Tribes, and that the British Royal Family is directly descended from King David. The emblem's devices are ascribed to different Israelite personalities (David, Ephraim, Judah, Joseph).
