Germany: Gustav Landauer "Soviet/Conniving Republic" satire medal by Karl Goetz (ND), circa. 1919; bronze-copper cast; size: 57mm, weight: 45.9g. Obverse: three "shady" post-War characters - an unemployed type, a veteran, a huster-type; legend "DIE RÄTE REPUBLIK" ("The Soviet Republic"), and "BAIERN 7.-30.IV.1919" in exergue. Reverse: Gustav Landauer dancing and kissing hatted Lenin; legend "LOS VOM REICH!" and "ES LEBE DIE INTERNATIONAL" ("Long Live the 'International' [Socialist anthem]"). Some oxidation; Kirschner Nr. 45, Kienast-222. Landauer was Jewish.
