Australia: Levy Brothers of Melbourne [Jewish] merchant copper Penny 1855 (A.320, KM #Tn147); size: 33.75mm; weight: 15.85g; in VF+. Obverse: double ring legend: "Levy Brothers • Arcade, Melbourne" and 4-line legend within: "Importers of Fancy Goods". Reverse: 'Justice' with "Australia" above & date in exergue. In 1852 the Levy brothers, Goodman, Nathaniel and Lewis, established a luxury goods warehouse and importing business on Lonsdale Street, and the following year added a few more shops to their business; by 1912 the business had overseas branches in Europe and America.
