The series of official mint 1979 5739, for marking the 31st anniversary of the State of Israel, appeared in a plastic pack in a new form. Included were 7 coins value 1,5, 10, 25, 1/2 lira and 1 lira, and, for the first time, a 5 lira coin with the mint sign on the back of the coin beneath the inscription "Israel". All the coins are of copper/nickel, except 1 agora which is of aluminum
