Liza Shertok Abramson 1897-1978

was born in 1897 in a country that used to be Poland and sometimes Russia.

Lisa was a princess.

She grew up in a house where there were servants who served her, she only painted. She studied painting and art in Russia and Paris.

Lisa immigrated to Israel in 1933 with her husband, the engineer Yechiel Goldstein.

In Israel, she met Aryeh Abramson, a Hashomer man, and was fascinated by his personality.

Lisa left the comfortable life, the money, the property, the house, and moved on to live with Arie Abramson.

Liza and Aryeh lived in poverty and under very difficult conditions in Sheikh Abrik, then in Ramat Yishai.

During her pregnancy she contracted fever, and if that were not enough, Aryeh was arrested and sentenced to two years in Acre with four other guards for the killing of an Arab.

Zimri was born in 1936 when Aryeh was in Acre prison. When Arie Abramson was released from prison, the family moved from place to place, depending on where the father worked as a guard. Arie died of pneumonia in 1941.

Zimri's guardian was Horowitz. He asked that Givat Brenner get Lisa Shertok and her son Zimri in exchange for a "slick" from Givat Hashomrim, which included a number of pistols and grenades.

Lisa and her son Zimri came to Givat Brenner in 1942.

Throughout her life, Liza devoted herself to painting and lived here with great modesty.

She drew every beautiful corner and many figures of friends and children in Givat Brenner.

In the morning Lisa painted at the sanatorium and worked a second shift in the kitchen.
