Hannelore and Rudolph Schulhof began collecting art in the early years of their marriage in the 1950s. The amassed collection, which represents a rich, wonderful journey through art of over 50 years, included at one point over 350 postwar and contemporary works by artists that include Joseph Cornell, Jean Dubuffet, Donald Judd, Sol LeWitt, Agnes Martin, Robert Ryman, Ellsworth Kelly, Cy Twombly, Jasper Johns and Mark Rothko.

Over 100 works in the collection have been generously donated by the Estate of Hannelore Schulhof to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Whitney Museum in New York, and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem. The Schulhofs maintained longstanding relationships with these museums.

The Schulhof Collection currently consists of over 80 works on paper, 50 sculptures, and 25 paintings. Of the 50 sculptures, there are nearly 30 cast in metal, bronze and iron and 6 sculptures made of marble and granite. There are approximately 30 art mounts, 30 lithographs, 10 art etchings, 10 screen prints, 2 engravings, and 2 silk screen prints. The collection also holds 10 framed etchings, 15 framed pictures, and 15 framed art prints. In addition to the original art in The Schulhof Collection, there are also 6 graphic art reproductions, 3 reproductions of paintings, and 250 printed art reproductions of 10 unique works.

The Schulhof Collection will remain true to the spirit and intent of Hannelore and Rudolph Schulhof by providing art exhibition services, having its own art exhibitions, providing grants, and participating in philanthropic services such as donating and lending art to art institutions. The Schulhof Collection will also be providing art appraisal, art brokerage, consultation in art investment, and providing grants for research in the arts.
