Historical letter sent by R. Moshe Gwirtzman and R. Eliyahu Chaim Schapiro (son of R. Yisroel Isser Schapiro). They write that it was well known that between the two World Wars, the Brisker Rov, R. Yitzchok Zev HaLevy Soloveitchik had a “Kibbutz”, in which the top students of the European Yeshivos, generally from Yeshivos Mir and Radin, came to hear his profound Shiurim and to learn from his conduct.
This “Kibbutz” had been re-established upon the arrival of the Brisker Rov in Eretz Yisroel. However, the only way to ensure its success was to make certain that the students didn’t suffer the financial difficulties that were prevalent among the Yeshiva students in Eretz Yisroel at the time. They therefore implore him to do all he can to raise money from his community.
Typewritten on the official stationary of the committee of Yeshivas Brisk in Yerusholayim, with 2 handwritten signatures. Includes original envelope.
20.5 by 26 cm. Excellent condition.
Opening bid $100
