A PHOENICIAN "NIMRUD" BRONZE BOWL
9th-8th century BCE. Depicting seven winged sphinxes, with human heads wearing Osiris crowns. Six of them rest a front paw on a small kneeling human figure, and the seventh sphinx rest his paw on a papyrus plant. The center of the bowl is covered with floral motifs. Above and below the sphinxes there are bands of a cable pattern. A very rare bowl, cleaned and in good condition. 18.8 cm in diameter.
