Avraham Stern (1905-1942) was an underground fighter and Jewish poet, founder and first commander of the "Lohamei Herut Israel" (Lehi) organization, also known as "Yair" His underground alias (named for Elazar Ben Yair, one of the commanders of the Great Revolt against the Romans and commander of the Zealots in Masada).
