Meir Gur Aryeh (1892-1951) was a Russian-born Israeli artist and painter, born Meir Gorodetsky in 1891 in the city of Bobruysk in White Russia, in the Russian Empire (now in the Mohilev district of Belarus) where he studied art between 1907 and 1909. In 1913 he immigrated to Eretz Israel with his family, and in Israel he continued to study art at Bezalel.
In 1913 he was involved in the establishment of a workshop called "Menorah" together with Ze'ev Raban and Shmuel Persov, where they created artifacts and reliefs on subjects drawn from Bezalel Art. Between 1918-1921 he served as a teacher at Bezalel. In 1923, Raban began a new workshop called Industrial Workplace, where he worked in graphic design and other objects.
