A very important letter in the handwriting and signature of Rabbi Natan Bamberger - to the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld - 1909.
Letter handwritten and signed by Rabbi Natan Bamberger, Av Beit Din of Würzburg, to Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld regarding donations to the inhabitants of the Land of Israel. 1909. Written on official paper, letters by Rabbi Nathan Bamberger are the rare ones!
Rabbi Nathan Bamberger (1872-1989), son of Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Bamberger, served as Chief Rabbi of Würzburg and Bavaria in southern Germany, where he headed the Teachers' Seminary, but his eye and heart were always in Jerusalem.
Although he was one of the leading rabbis in Germany and the flag of Torah with Derech Eretz, he maintained close personal ties with the people of the Old Yishuv and the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld.
During his tenure, he collected 2,475,000 German marks for important institutions in Eretz Israel, such as Shaare Zedek Hospital and more. He would regularly publish the lists of donors from southern Germany in the Izraelit newspaper. He also had a great influence on the rest of the Kollel in Western Europe, especially on Kollel Amsterdam.
Among his works: Likutei HaLevi; "The Levites Ordinance".
Condition; Very Good, folding marks, filing holes.
