Beit Din Ruling Regarding Controversy in Galanta. Ruling and letters by Rabbi Shraga Tzvi Tenenbaum about the famed controversy involving the rabbinate in Galanta. Munkacs, 1894. Special copy.

Rulings and letters regarding the controversy regarding the rabbinate in 1893. Rabbi Tenenbaum was added as a third, decisive adjudicator regarding a complex halachic question. The book contains halachic rulings, rabbinic letters, and a letter from Rabbi Feivel Plaut of Nagysurany who disagreed with the ruling. (An entire book was written about this episode by Rabbi Shraga Tzvi Altman's grandson: Din Torah D'Galanta, Bnei Brak 1983).

This copy has an additional three unknown subscriber pages that are not listed in the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book. The list of hundreds of signatories includes famed rabbis and Admors, such as: Rabbi Moshe Halberstam of Shinova, Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Halberstam of Shinova, Rabbi Chaim Elazar of Munkacs, Rabbi Yekutiel Halberstam of Sanz, Rabbi Moshe Greenwald of Chust. This is an important discovery regarding the controversy: a list of rabbis and Admors who sided with Rabbi Tenenbaum's ruling.

16 [3] leaves, 33 cm. Fine condition. The blank margins on a few leaves were professionally restored. New binding.
