Tehillim. Rodelheim, 1825. Especially Rare

Book of Psalms with Yiddish translation, Wolf Heidenheim press in Rodelheim, 1825. Especially rare.

Tehillim with Yiddish translation. Prayers for the ill and for rain at the conclusion.

Rabbi Wolf Heidenheim is renowned for the proofread books that he edited and printed. The title pages of his books all feature his name as proofreader and grammarian. This book of Psalms, printed in his lifetime, does not bear his name, though the title page notes that it was printed at his press. Rabbi Wolf did not usually omit his name from his books but, on the other hand, if this was printed at his press, he surely reviewed it punctiliously.

A Tehillim with Rabbi Wolf Heidenheim's translation, that he printed in 1826, is known.

Especially rare, not listed by the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book and not found in the National Library. Listed in the Otzar HaSefer HaIvri according to a copy that was at auction in 1993.

92 pages, about 18 cm.

Fine condition. Not bound. Aging stains, leaf 2 bears a reinforcing piece of paper.
