On the first leaf of the book, the signature of Rabbi Ya'akov Chaim Sofer author of 'Kaf Ha'Chaim' (Since his signature appears on this leaf, it is obvious that the title page of the book was missing already when the book was in his possession).
The Kabbalist Rabbi Ya'akov Chaim Sofer (1870-1939) was born in Babylon, the disciple of Rabbi Abdallah Somech and Rabbi Yosef Chaim, author of "Ben Ish Chai". One of the rabbis of Babylon and Jerusalem and a leading Posek. Authored the series of books 'Kaf Ha'Chaim'. He wrote this composition in the attic of the "shoshanim Le'David" synagogue in Jerusalem, which was established by the Ben Ish Chai. Authored additional books, among them "Chaim ad Ha'Olam", "Kol Ya'akov" – the laws of scribal script, "Chukei Chaim" – Derashot for various events. And "Yagel Ya'akov" – Torah novellae.
