Zohar (Livorno 1851) with Important Glosses Handwritten by the Kabbalist Rabbi Raphael Aharon Ferrara, One of Them Contains Calculations of the Redemption – His Signatures

Before us is the copy from which the Kabbalist Rabbi Aharon Raphael Chaim Moshe Ferrara had studied.
An important gloss handwritten by him (on leaf 219) dealing with the calculation of the redemption.
On leaf 251, a long gloss in his script singed: "From me … Yitzchak".
Several handwritten lingual corrections, most likely in his script.
The Kabbalist Rabbi Aharon Raphael Ferrara was born in Salonika to his father Rabbi Yitzchak Ferrara. He immigrated to Jerusalem with his family in 1848 and was one of the kabbalists of the Beit El Yeshiva.
His leading disciple, Rabbi Akiva Yosef Schlesinger, wrote of him "One cannot imagine the greatness of his virtues. Until his death he used to get up at midnight to go to the Beit El Beit Midrash and encouraged his friends to do as he did…" He died in 1886.
He left a detailed will of twelve clauses requesting that his manuscripts be printed and published.
His compositions: "Toldot Aharon Ve'Moshe Ve'Efer Yitzchak" (Jerusalem, 1870), "Devar Hashem Mi'Yerushalayim" (Jerusalem, 1873). His son is the Kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Ferrara of Jerusalem, of the Beit El Yeshiva.
Condition: Fair. The first leaves (including the title page) are detached. Flaws. Moth signs. Most of the leaves of the book are in good condition.
