Bir Salim was a small Arabic village with only several hundreds of residents. Its residents joined the Arab Liberation Army of Qawuqji during the War of Independence. When the Givati Brigade conquered the village, its residents escaped. The settlement Netzer Chazani was built where the village used to be.
The letter is handwritten in German, a surprising fact since the poor residents of the village were most likely illiterate. The letter has not been translated.
It is most likely that no other envelope from this small village had survived, which makes it extremely rare!
Condition: Very Good. Signs of age in the corners and sides of the envelope.
