Novellae on Shulchan Aruch Orech Chaim and Yoreh Deah and a few novellae on the Rambam, by Rabbi Moshe Halevi Levnger, av”d of Micheldorf. To the best of our knowledge, this has never been published. 144 large leaves, including a few blanks. 32 cm. The first leaf features the author’s stamp. Rabbi Moshe Halevi Levinger was born in 1810, he was a disiciple of Maharahm Ash av”d of Ungvar. The Chatam Sofer highly praised him. The Mahram Schick wrote in section Yoreh Deah siman 256: ‘when I was by Maran (Chatam Sofer) ztz”l, there was a Rabbi – the great Rabbi Moshe Komaran of Micheldorf…’ He served as av”d in Magadorf, Micheldorf and Weitzen until his death in 1877. Refer to Kinstlicher, HaChatam Sofer V’Talmidav, p. 352-353, with a copy of his handwriting. New, half-leather binding. Aging stains. A few supplements and water stains on the last leaves. Fine condition.
