Tiklal for Holidays and High Holidays. Yemen, 19th Century
Tiklal for holidays and the High Holidays. The title page notes: “Order of prayers for Passover, Shavuot, Sukkot, Rosh Hoshana and Selichot and prayers for Yom Kippur, as per the customs of Yemen, Sanaa….Jerusalem”. Yemen, 19th century. 182 leaves, paper. 17.5×11 cm. Yemenite script. The beginning through leaf 28 – including the title page – was supplied in a later hand. Seder Tefilot for Sukkot on leaves 136-182 are in a different hand. All with vocalization. The titles of the primary section of the Tiklal (leaves 29-135) are emphasized with red inked lines. The binding lining is backed with leaves from a Passover Haggada from a different manuscript. Original, old leather binding. Worming holes in the blank margins. Usage and aging stains. Fine condition.
