Letter signed the Admor HaRayatz of Lubavitch—Perchtoldsdorf, Austria, 1937.
Letter of blessing written on typewriter on official letterhead, by the Admor Rabbi Yosef Yitzhak Schneerson, signed by hand. From the 3rd of Nissan, 1937, to Rav Alexander Sander Yodasin, an important rabbi of Chabad in Israel who wrote books on the Shas and the Tanya. The Rayatz (1880-1950) was the sixth Admor of the Chabad movement. After many years of fighting to keep Orthodox Judaism alive from within the Soviet Union, he was forced to leave; he continued to conduct the struggle from Latvia, and then Poland, and eventually the United States, where he spent the last ten years of his life. | Filing marks, signs of folding, slight tears in the folds, reinforcement with tape. 21x28cm, generally good condition.
