Rabbi David Ganz, (1541-1613) student of the Rem"a, and the Mahara"l MePrague, was also involved in the field of science/ His sefer 'Tzemach David' was first published during the life of the author. In the year 1592 in Prague. There are two volumes to the sefer, volume one deals with generations of the Jewish Nation from the days of Adam Harishon up till the days of the author, and the second volume reviews the general world history. The description in the sefer is in chronological order, with a short description of events of each year. The sefer appears in many editions and attained a lot of success.
