'Yediot Acharonot' Newpaper Edition on the Topic of the Passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe - Mourning and Joy – 1994
"Yediot Acharonot' newpaper edition from 4 Tammuz 5754 reporting the passing of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and on the opposite responses to his passing.
Under the headline: 'Tens of Thousands Escort The Lubavitcher Rebbe to Eternal Rest - his Final Journey' a double picture appears - on the right, chassidim mourning, and the text 'Mourning Chassidim Next to the Home of the Rebbe in New York,' and on the left, chassidim of the Rebbe celebrating and the text "Not all the Chassidim of Chabad were Saddened. There were Those Who Even Sang and Danced and were Convinced "The Rebbe Will be Resurrected."" The inner headlines of the newspaper deal with the mixed reactions to the passing. For example, the headline appearing on page 4, "Prepare for the Coming of Mashiach - Facing the Rebbe's Home in Brooklyn, Chassidim are Sitting and Weeping ... Not far from There, Chassidim are Dancing in a Circle Singing, "Long Live Our Master King Mashich" Many of them Refuse to Pass in Front of the Body: "In Any Case, We Will Soon Meet Him and Travel with Him to Jerusalem."" Headlines on the center pages describe the responses in Kfar Chabad: "He Will Yet Return - in Kfar Chabad Shock, Concern and Confusion Tending Towards Joy and Song."
Fine condition.
