Israel Rice - Israel Rice is an autodidact artist who lives and works in Haifa. He has held solo exhibitions in several galleries and exhibition spaces throughout the country and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. His works were put up for sale at a number of Israeli art auctions produced by the Art and Collective Magazine, "Auction". From the early days of his childhood, Israel Reyes used to paint but only since 1989, he began to devote himself to the field of art professionally. At first he chose pastels and then switched to oil paint. His paintings are naïve, clean, reflecting the landscapes of his childhood from the kibbutz and from the agricultural school where he studied. His subjects: roosters, sheep, horses, all made with great grace, love and warmth. The strong backgrounds, which the artist chooses for his paintings, red, orange and yellow, do not detract from the innocence of the animals that are spread out to the viewer on wide canvas. The bulls in his paintings are powerless, made of black but at the same time look at the viewer with good eyes. Thus the artist sees the world. A good world, a world full of warmth and love. Among the other themes that appear in the artist's paintings are figures. He paints them in small groups, lined up, neat, spotlessly clean, without shadows.
The artist has no truth behind the truth. Everything is direct. What you see is what there is. "
