Rabbi Yehudah Leib Margaliot served as rabbi in Sochatchov and several other villages. There is a noted story about his meeting with the gaon of Vilna [mentioned in Aliyot Eliyahu]. He was an outspoken critic of Mendelssohn. He authored Korban Reishit, Tov V'Yafeh and more.
