Description:
Anti-German lubok of the WWI time. Produced as a chromolithography by V. Shmigelsky in Petrograd. Hand painted. On the back there is the stamp of the home library of A.V. Ulitin.
Information:
Count Jacob Ludwig Friedrich Wilhelm Joachim von Purtales (1853-1928) - German diplomat. In 1907-1914 - ambassador to Russia. July 19 (August 1), 1914, gave the Russian Foreign Minister S. D. Sazonov a note announcing Germany’s war on Russia. According to the memoirs, having done this, Pourtales «went to the window and wept».
