A painter, sculptor and stone lithographer, Michael Parkes studied graphic art and painting at the University of Kansas. Known for his unique modern surrealist style, combining a very realistic brushstroke with a magical subject matter, he is fascinated by esoteric doctrine. Mysterious winged women, good and evil, in environments that he calls weightless, display the heart’s deepest desires.
Michael Parkes and Steltman started their collaboration in 1977. Steltman became the exclusive dealer of Parkes’ paintings and publisher of the limited edition stone lithographs and books by Michael Parkes.
