Kerem Shlomo, Pressburg 1843-1846 - Copy of Rabbi Ben Zion Wizel from Marda, Many Glosses

Kerem Shlomo to Rabbi Shlomo Yekutiel Hess, three parts, Pressburg 1843-1846, Orach Chaim, Yoreh De'ah, Even HaEzer. [Separate title page for each section]. The copy of Rabbi Ben Zion Va'el of Marda.

On the title-page is an owner's stamp of Rabbi Ben Zion Va'el of Marda. Between the pages of the book are dozens of scholarly glosses from the time of printing from two different writers [possibly in the handwriting of Rabbi Ben Zion Va'el and his father]. At the beginning of the book, the author brought a poem that he copied from his book "Bnot hshir"," in which his name is hinted at by AB in the first and last.

Rabbi Ben Zion Wizel [1864-1938] Rabbi of Turda in Transylvania for 36 years, one of the greatest rabbis of his generation. He was ordained by the author of the Kedushat Yom Tov and the Gedolot Mordechai, among his students: Rabbi Simcha Natan Greenberg, Av Beit Din of Zamark, and Rabbi Shmuel Weinman, Av Beit Din of Rovia. He died in 1938 when he was in a hospital in Kloisenburg and was buried in Tora. Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, Av Beit Din of Shimlui, said in his eulogy: " The loss of the Rav from torda at this time is more of a tragedy  than the loss of the Noda B'Yehuda at the time, because then there were still geniuses ...".

Missing tear on corner of title page and first three pages, detached binding, missing spine. Stains. moderate-good condition.
