Letter of greetings by Rabbi Mordechai Trevish. Torino, 1772


A letter in the handwriting and signature of the Ga'on Rabbi Mordechai Trevish  [one of the greatest sages of Atelia], to his grandson Rabbi Yehiel Chaim Trevish, in which Praising him:זכה 'לאסוקי שמעתתא אליבא דהלכתא וסייעתא דשמיה עמיה... וידעי רצי אורייתא' Torino 1772.


In his letter, the grandfather extended his blessing to his grandson to grow up into one of the greatest and most righteous of the generation, and to merit the perfection of the Torah. Among these things, the grandfather also hints at matters in Kabbalah. [Grandson Rabbi Yechiel Chaim Troyish - one of the most important and great scholars of Italy.The Chida in his book 'Maagal tov' during one of his travels, he asked the great generation in Italy about a polemic concerning the early Kabbalat Shabbat. The controversy was fought among the greatest Rabbis . The brother-in-law of Rabbi Shlomo Michael Yona of Turin wrote a great response to to allow and with approbations of the great rabbis of this generation, including Rabbi Yishmael the Kohen of Modena, author of Zera Emet, and Rabbi Eliyahu HaLevi of Alessandria.
