A carved schist statuette of Buddha with nimbus behind the head, draped mantle and collars, frieze of rosettes to the plinth; mounted on a custom-made stand. 7.9 kg, 53cm including stand (21"). Fine condition, right hand absent.
Provenance
Property of a London Gandharan art collector, acquired in the late 1990s; formerly with various UK sources acquired by them since the 1960s.
