Islamic Silver Ring with Calligraphic Gemstone
14th century AD and earlier
A silver ring with D-section penannular hoop, beast-head finials, with 12th-13th century AD biconvex gold plaque on hinged fixture, inset carnelian cloison with calligraphic Kufic inscription, starburst below. 15 grams, 32mm overall, 20.08mm internal diameter (approximate size British U, USA 10 1/4, Europe 23.0, Japan 22) (1 1/4"). Fine condition. A large wearable size.
